After I graduated, I made sure that I wouldn’t lose my own identity. Not that I was really distinct from other people, but I knew that I was a little more fearless back then. I’d still run away screaming like a girl at the first sight of a cockroach, but for everything else, I was open to trying anything once and take risks.
However, when I finally got a job, I failed to notice that I was starting to lose myself. I became a little more reserved and quiet, unwillingly stopped drawing because of my busy schedule, started wearing plain clothes. Day by day, the college kid was fading and started conforming to what society wanted me to be.

Ooops. I’ve been so busy with so many things that I forgot to greet everyone a happy friggin’ new year! 2009 sucked so much so I’m hoping for a better 2010.
By the way, I’m part of a group exhibit by InK at 1/of Gallery, Serendra at The Fort. Exhibit is open until January 9. =)

I don’t really take pride of my photo-editing skills but if it’s vanity we’re talking about, I get very OC. The photo was taken by my good friend Karla on her recent photoshoot where she desperately needed a model for her class. I sort of forgot to wear my glasses when this picture was taken so I decided to just digitally put it on. Fixed the angle, and added an earring (I wanted to see how I will look like with one =P)

Back in college, I used to have a regular comic strip in the school paper. Good times, good times. Now I decided I’ll be reviving my old comic strip called Role Models. It was a project that never took flight because of my work schedule. Now that I’ve submitted my resignation, I’ll be getting plenty of time to work on this.
Role Models is about the life of 2 good friends Kyle & Roxy (based from me and my good friend, Karla) because we always talk about how our lives should be a comedy sitcom.
There will be a separate page for the comics and the first strip would be out on December.

So… 23 years years ago at this exact date, I was born.
I’ve been getting a lot of crap about my birthday since I was a kid because it falls on a very somber holiday here–All Saints Day. It’s the day where everyone in the Phil is supposed to visit their dead relatives in the cemetery. Which is the reason why i’ve never celebrated on my actual birthday.
When I was a kid, I thought I was the only one in the world who was born on November 1 because everyone I met made a big deal about the date. I keep up with the jokes by stating that when i was born, all the saints died.

Last night, I had an early Halloween/Birthday party with my close friends. Since people won’t be available during those holidays (October 31 and November 1), I had the celebration a week earlier.
I had loads of fun and got really awesome gifts but the most important is that a lot of people took an effort to go to my house since almost everyone’s from Q.C. and Makati while I’m all the way down South. I’ve never attended a halloween party so it’s nice to finally put my zombie character to good use.

The photo above shows the street where I pass by every morning on my way to work. And, yeah, the black dot you see in the middle right of the picture is indeed someone’s head.
The storm has stopped for now, but according to the news, it’s still gonna rain tomorrow. It’s agood thing our neighborhood is placed on somewhat higher ground than most places.

Last Thursday, September 19, my sister got married to her half-Korean boyfriend Steve at Fernbrook Gardens in Alabang. It was a beautiful day for my family and I was very happy for them.

My mom cried her heart out. Steve teared up in the middle of his vows. I teared up after realizing that I will eventually have to grow up a little more. The location was fab, but my sister looked more stunning. Dad also played the violin during the couple’s dance.

Steve and my suit were both designed by goof friend, Jean Avellanosa-Dee. I flove mine! I am not a fan of formal outfits, but I was sold!

I’m not a car person. Not at all. I don’t know anything much about cars and how they operate and which car is which, etc. So to my surprise I got an early birthday present from my parents… a silver 2008 Picanto, which is perfect because I told myself that IF ever I do get a car, it’s gonna be one of those tiny ones because they look cute. Although a Mini Cooper would be 100000 times much cooler, who am I to complain?
The only problem is I don’t know how to drive. Hahaha. I never expected that I’d have a car since I’ve convinced myself why I shouldn’t get one. I never even asked my parents to buy me one ever.
Reasons why:
1. I have short attention span. I might get distracted by billboards and random cute passers-by, or a squirrel. Even though there are no squirrels here.
2. I hate being stuck in traffic.
3. I’m REALLY bad at understanding directions.
4. No have money for gas.
5. Looking for parking spaces here is too troublesome.
But those things don’t matter now. I think I’ll name him Arashi. Hahaha.
